O hit "WAP", de Cardi B em parceria com Megan Thee Stallion, garantiu o topo do ranking, no que o site definiu como o "resumo de um ano em que as mulheres têm liderado tanto as estatísticas quanto a consciência do rap".
A música já havia garantido também um lugar de destaque na lista do conceituado jornal The Guardian, ficando em segundo lugar, atrás apenas de "Rain On Me (Arca Remix)", de Lady Gaga, que na lista da Pitchfork ficou em 11º.
